ACA/AACG '99 Exhibit Show

The 1999 Annual Meeting of the American Crystallographic Association, in conjunction with the American Association for Crystal Growth, will be held May 22 - 27, at the Buffalo Convention Center in Buffalo, New York. The meeting will begin with workshops on Saturday, followed by lectures and poster sessions from Sunday to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The opening reception will be held at the Adam's Mark Hotel on Saturday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. The annual Young Scientists SIG Mixer will be held at the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery on Monday, May 24 beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery will reopen following renovations the week of the ACA meeting with an exhibit, Monet at Giverny: Masterpieces from the Musée Marmottan. The ACA has reserved the gallery Tuesday evening, May 25. Included in the $25.00 price of the ticket is transportation, drinks and hors d'oeuvres at the gallery. The banquet will be held in the Statler Golden Ballroom across the street from the convention center and will include an open bar before and after the event and wine with the meal. Banquet tickets will cost $20 for registered students and $40 for all others; this is separate from the registration fee. Please indicate your choice of fish or beef for dinner on the registration form.

Hotel
A block of sleeping rooms at a special conference rate of $99.00 have been reserved for meeting participants at the newly renovated Adam's Mark Hotel on the waterfront. Located at 120 Church St., the hotel is distinguished by 471 guest rooms and luxurious suites, indoor pool and health club, and complimentary ramp parking for overnight guests. Entertainment includes Justine's for fine dining; the Café for casual all-day dining and Le Club with dancing to live music and DJ selections.

The Adam's Mark is located a few blocks from the Buffalo Convention Center where all scientific sessions will be held. It is a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the convention center. Busses will be available for transport to and from the convention center in the morning and afternoon. Please submit the hotel reservation request form well before May 3, to secure your room at the special conference rate. Forms are available on the ACA Web Site.

Buffalo Convention Center
All scientific sessions, lectures, and poster presentations will be held in the Buffalo Convention Center. The center is located in the heart of downtown Buffalo. Nearby restaurants and shopping are easily accessible via the above ground free section of the rapid transit system.
