ANNUAL MEETING - SITE CHANGE

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the site of the 1998 ACA Annual Meeting has been changed. The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, in Arlington, Virginia. The Hyatt Regency is adjacent to Washington National Airport and offers FREE shuttle service to Washington National Airport and the METRO subway. It is 32 miles from Dulles International Airport. Overlooking the Potomac River, 5 minutes from historic Old Town Alexandria, The Pentagon, and is 10 minutes from downtown Washington, US Capitol, Smithsonian, White House and Georgetown. The scientific program for the meeting will remain the same. Room rates at the Hyatt will be $115 (single, double, triple or quad) per night + 9.875% tax. A hotel reservation form is available on our web site. All ACA members should have already received a revised Call for Papers, if you have not received one and would like one sent to you, please let us know.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Attention ACA Meeting Participants, The headquarters hotel, Hyatt Regency Crystal City, in Arlington, Virginia, is filling quickly. To assure yourself a sleeping room, make your hotel reservation NOW! IMPORTANT: The fax number of the Hyatt was incorrect in the Call for Papers. The correct number is (703) 418-1289.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS AT ACA 1998

The ACA originally planned on having this meeting at a different hotel (the Washington Sheraton). In January 1998, the Sheraton Hotel canceled our contract, leaving us with no place to have the meeting. We were able to find similar accommodations at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. However our options were (are) somewhat limited. The Hyatt Hotel blocked us a certain number of rooms for each night of the meeting. This grouping of rooms are to be charged at $115 each plus taxes. Once the rooms for each night are booked, our conference rate of $115 is closed. The hotel may still have space, but they are not willing to give us the lower rate. Because of this problem, we have reserved a block of 50 rooms at a Hilton Hotel, located across the street from the Hyatt. They will guarantee a rate of $115 per night plus tax, Saturday, July 18, through Wednesday, July 22. They said they will hold rooms at this rate until July 1.
