Kondrashkina, Ke Zhang, and G.B. Bunker, CSRRI and Dept. BCPS, Illinois Inst. of Technology, 3101 S. Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60616 USA.

The 18ID undulator beam line of the Biophysics Collaborative Access Team at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne, IL is a high performance instrument designed for and dedicated to the study of partially ordered and disordered biological materials using the techniques of macromolecular small-angle x-ray scattering, fiber diffraction, and x-ray absorption spectroscopy with a special emphasis on time-resolved and high throughput applications. BioCAT is funded as a NCRR Biotechnology Research Resource and its facilities are available to all scientists on the basis of peer-reviewed beamtime proposals. An overview of our facilities and their capabilities will be presented.
