The 18ID undulator beam line of the Biophysics Collaborative
Access Team at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne, IL is a high
performance instrument designed for and dedicated to the study of partially
ordered and disordered biological materials using the techniques of
macromolecular small-angle x-ray scattering, fiber diffraction, and x-ray
absorption spectroscopy with a special emphasis on time-resolved and high
throughput applications. BioCAT is funded as a NCRR
Biotechnology Research Resource and its facilities are available to all
scientists on the basis of peer-reviewed beamtime proposals. An overview of our
facilities and their capabilities will be presented.
