Fiber Diffraction Committee Report 2006
Although the Fiber Diffraction SIG did not sponsor a session this year’s meeting, we have been active in other meetings. Most notably, we are co-sponsoring the FiberNet Fiber Diffraction workshop at Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee, on Aug 6-9, 2006 with FiberNet, the NSF-sponsored research coordination network for biological fiber diffraction, and BioCat, the NIH-supported research center that runs beamline 18-ID at the Advanced Photon Source. The workshop will feature neutron fiber diffraction, in conjunction with the beginning of operations at the Spallation Neutron Source at the nearby Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Gerald Stuffs is now the chair of the ISG; Amy Kendall continues as secretary and Joseph Orgel is the chair-elect.
