Art in Crystallography Prize

Entries for the 2008-9 Art in Crystallography contest, sponsored by ACA RefleXions together with the ACA Council, are shown below. Winners, and some entries will be featured in ACA RefleXions.  All entries will be displayed at the 2009 Toronto ACA Meeting, and there will be a silent auction similar to the one in 2007 at the Salt Lake City ACA meeting. Participation in the silent auction of entries held during the meeting was both enthusiastic and spirited. All proceeds were donated to the Student Travel Fund.

Entries for the 2009 Art in Crystallography competition are welcome at any time in the form of images emailed to either (conniechidester@earthlink.net or flippen@rcsb.rutgers.edu). Each entry should be accompanied by a paragraph explaining the science and the method of producing the image. We would appreciate receiving a photo of the artist as well, but this is not required. Prizes will consist of a small monetary award and a banquet ticket and waiver of registration fees at the annual meeting. Of course we hope that the GLORY garnered by the winners will be an additional incentive. Judging will be by a panel appointed by the Editors; please let them know if you are interested in being a judge.
