We are very saddened to report that Bob Bau passed away on December 28 in the early evening. Bob had been undergoing a series of medical problems, but until very recently had been feeling better and was looking forward to regaining some mobility. Apparently during the past few days, a rapid decline set in. I spoke briefly with Margaret Bau who told me that he passed At his wish, Bob's remains will be cremated and a memorial service for him will be held in January. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., Culver City, CA 90230 at the Risen Christ Chapel. At her request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to "The Robert Bau Memorial Fund" at the Department of Chemistry, University of Southern California.
