This molecular abstraction was carved from a mesquite block 17” x 8.7” x 1.7”, sanded lightly, and finished with multiple coats of polyurethane varnish. As a piece of abstract art, it challenges the viewer to ascribe to it the glorious fantasies that flit across the mind of the creative scientist who watches a new structure emerge from an electron density map.
