Neutron SIG report - July 12, 2005

At this and the previous ACA Annual Meeting the Neutron SIG has worked closely with the Materials, SAS and Powder SIGs to arrange a series of materials science based symposia. Cooperative planning between these SIGs has been successful in increasing continuity of materials science sessions across the four days of this ACA meeting and reducing the occurrence of such sessions running in parallel. It is anticipated that the exciting range of materials science symposia sponsored by many SIGs at this years ACA meeting will have broadened attendance amongst the materials science community.

The Neutron SIG has (co)sponsored several sessions at this year's ACA Annual meeting;

'Neutrons 101: Getting Started with Neutron Diffraction' Brian Toby, 'Advances in Neutron Fiber Diffraction' Paul Langan, Tom Irving, Trevor Forsyth, 'Crystalline Hydrogen Storage Materials' Bryan Chakoumakos.
Many members of the ACA Neutron SIG are involved in organizing the upcoming conference on "Frontiers on Neutron Macromolecular Crystallography at the Spallation Neutron Source" during July 12-13, 2005 at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
