At the 2008 meeting in Knoxville the Service SIG sponsored or co-sponsored the following five sessions:

13.01: Incommensurate and Modulated Structures
13.02: Solid State Transformations and Reactions
13.07: Professional Directions
13.15: Diffuse Scattering Studies of Local Structure in the Solid State

For the 2009 meeting in Toronto, the Service SIG wants to organize two half-day sessions:

1.) Tips and Tricks of the Trade with possible emphasis on computing (Xiaoping Wang)
2.) Problem Structures (Richard Staples)

For the 2009 meeting, the Service SIG is ready to co-sponsor the following two sessions:

1.) Phase Transitions (Marilyn Olmstead, Graciela Diaz Delgado)
2.) Large Small Molecules (Christine Beavers, Ilia Guzei)
3.) Would you Publish This? (Carla Slebodnick). Evening Session.

For the 2009 meeting the Service SIG is ready to co-sponsor a workshop on the Refinement of Incommensurate Structures
