Structural Proteomics of an Archeon. Aled Edwards, Banting and Best Dept. of Medical Research, Univ. of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario

Our laboratory is involved in a structural proteomics project. The progress in the cloning, expression and purification of more than 500 proteins will be discussed with specific reference to the structural analysis by X-ray crystallography. Five representative crystal structures will be presented, selected to highlight the different types of discoveries that will emerge from structural proteomics projects. The technical hurdles that will confront the structural proteomics effort will also be discussed.
